Renato Cocconi is an orthodontist in Parma, Italy where he belongs to the FACE Ortho Surgical Center, a private practice that he directs with Prof. Raffaini.
Dr Cocconi attended a 3 year Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics at the Department of Orthodontics of the University of Milan where he obtained his master’s degree in 1993. He subsequently spent 2½ years in the United States where he worked in L.F. Andrews and attended the Roth Williams postgraduate course in from 1993-1994. Since that time Dr Cocconi has been very active in the orthodontic community nationally and internationally.
His accomplishments and collaborations worldwide include working with Dr Terry Tanaka, membership of the Angle Society of Europe and countless invitations to speak internationally for such groups as European and American Orthodontic Society, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He has served as a clinical professor in the Department of Orthodontics of the University of Milan from 1993 to 2008.
Currently, Cocconi is a practicing partner in the FACE group in Italy and Europe and is also active in many organizations including the EOS, AAO, SIDO and the Angle Society of Europe. He is President (2018) of the Scientific Committee of the Angle Society of Europe and active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
Dr Nikolaos Perakis graduated in dentistry with first class honours at the University of
Bologna (Italy). He completed his studies at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) where
He obtained the title of LMD, a Doctorate under the direction of Dr Pascal Magne, and the Specialization in Fixed Prosthodontics under the direction of Prof. U. Belser.
He is an active member of the Swiss Society of Restorative Dentistry (SSRD), of the Accademia Italiana di Conservativa (AIC) and of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED).
He gave lectures and courses in many Universities as Harvard University, Boston (MA), University of Southern California USC, Los Angeles (CA), Université de Strasbourg (France), Université de Genève (Swizerland), University Athens (Greece), Università di Napoli e di Bologna (Italy). He has over the past years published scientific articles and lectured internationally.
Dr Perakis maintains his own private practice in Bologna (Italy).
Dr. Björn Ludwig (DK) maintains a private orthodontic practice in Traben-Trarbach, Germany. He is Professor at the University of Homburg/Saar, Department of Orthodontics. His focus of
research work is skelettal anchorage and 3D imaging. He has published more than 100 peer reviewed clinical and scientific articles, and is editor of three books. He is editor in chief of the Quintessenz publication “Kieferorthopädie” (Orthodontics). He is also co-editor of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics. He is active member of the Angle society of Europe and serves in the council of the German board in Orthodontics. He is the current president of the European Begg Society.
