Prof. C. Booy

Booy Foundation

The Booy Foundation is named after the legendary Dutch professor C. (Kees) Booy (1921-2013), who introduced fixed orthodontic appliances in the 1960’s in the Netherlands and many other European countries. Since its establishment in 1988 the foundation organizes accredited orthodontic courses and congresses in the Netherlands.

The foundation is an independent and non-commercial non-profit organization. The board consists of 3 orthodontists. These volunteers receive no remuneration for their work.

On 30 and 31 May 2024 the Booy Foundation organizes the very last congress of the European Begg Society of Orthodontics (EBSO) in Amsterdam: ORTHO-AMSTERDAM 2024. Sixteen well-known international speakers will give presentations at this special European meeting. In addition the Begg Prize (€ 2,500) will be awarded for the most important scientific contribution to clinical orthodontics. There is also an attractive social program.

The ORTHO-AMSTERDAM 2024 congress has already been held and was very successful. Therefore it was decided that on 11-12 June 2026 the ORTHO-AMSTERDAM 2026 congress will take place. Then also a Begg Prize of 2,500 will be awarded for the best scientific contribution to clinical orthodontics.
