CV Hans Booij (chair)
Hans Booij received his DDS in 1977 and qualified as specialist in orthodontics in 1983 at the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. Since then he started a private practice as orthodontist in Gorinchem.
From 1985 to 2000 he has been secretary of the Dutch Society for the Study of Orthodontics (NVOS). In 1997 he was president of the European Begg Society of Orthodontics (EBSO) and organized an international congress in Maastricht. He is an active member of the Angle Society of Europe (ASE). Since 2002 to present he is secretary of the Booy Foundation.
He has published several peer-reviewed papers and lectured nationally and internationally. In 2021 he presented his PhD thesis on orthodontic treatment after extractions of upper first permanent molars at the Radboud University Nijmegen.
His major interests include orthodontic treatment possibilities with extractions of permanent molars.
