Abstract

Lecture: Class II treatment success and its predictive factors

Class II malocclusions are very frequent and multiple treatment techniques have been described. While data on the dentoskeletal effects of appliances and/or treatment approaches are abundant in literature, success rates of have seldomly been analyzed.

The success of Class II malocclusion treatment is influenced by multiple factors. Potential factors influencing success can be found at the clinical level related to both the patient and the practitioner, as well as in form of the morphological and biological patient characteristics.

The current lecture will give an overview on the current evidence for Class II treatment success and its predictive factors.

Attendees of this lecture will be able to:

  • describe and compare the success rates of different Class II treatment approaches
  • identify predictive factors for Class II treatment success
